The Wave Booking Terms and Conditions
**Please read these terms and conditions carefully as they incorporate the basis on which bookings for The Wave are accepted**
How to Book / Quotes and Reservations
Bookings can be made over the internet via this website or by calling our resort on 07 5555 9200 (Australian callers) or +61 7 5555 9200 (International callers). Photo ID will be required upon arrival, to prevent credit card fraud.
Reservations are subject to availability and actual pricing at the time of booking.
Verbal quotes are valid for 24 hours only. Any verbal quote given is only an estimate of the price, which will be subject to written advice on confirmation of the reservation. All quotes are given in AUD. A 3 night minimum stay applies in Low Season and a 5 night minimum stay applies in High Season.
A deposit of $200.00 per room must be received immediately to confirm the booking, a $500.00 deposit for all Sub-Penthouse bookings, and Peak Season Bookings. Payment of this deposit will indicate acceptance of these conditions. The Wave bears no responsibility for monies paid to a travel agency until cleared funds are received in the trust of The Wave resort.
The balance of accommodation must be paid in full on arrival. For all Peak Season Bookings 50% of the remaining balance is due 30 days prior to travel. For all late arrivals, The Wave will take the balance of the accommodation account from the credit card provided. If paying by cheque, payment must be received by The Wave at least 14 days prior to arrival. The confirmation is subject to reissue if incorrect through error or omission and the guest accepts the liability to then pay the correct cost or to decline to retain the reservation. Group Bookings to be pre paid 7 days prior to arrival.
We accept the following credit cards only: Visa, Mastercard, Bankcard and AMEX. All payments must be made in AUD.

If you choose to vacate an apartment before the confirmed departure dates, no refund will be given.
Any amendment to a booking will incur a $25 admin fee.
For all Group bookings, all amendments, and rooming lists must be received by The Wave, in writing, at least 7 days prior to arrival.
- Low Season – No refund of Deposit if cancelled within 14 days or less prior to travel. $50.00 administration fee if more than 14 days notice is given. Within 2 days, cancellations are subject to total accommodation fee. In case of a no show, the total accommodation charge will apply.
- High Season – $50.00 administration fee if more than 30 days notice given. Within 14 days prior to check in, cancellations are subject to 50% of total accommodation fee. In case of a no show, the total accommodation charge will apply. Within 2 days of arrival total accommodation fee will apply.
We highly recommend all our guests to have an appropriate level of travel insurance.
Travel insurance can be arranged by many travel agents.
Refunds are made by cheque only.
Rates are effective from 1 April 2011 to 31 March 2012 and may be changed at anytime.
Any verbal quote is an estimate only of price, which will be subject to a written advice on confirmation of the reservation.
Check-in and Check-out
Standard check-in is 2pm and standard check out is 10am.
For guaranteed check in prior to 2pm, a unit must be reserved from the previous night and therefore includes an additional nightly charge.
For arrival outside our resort standard reception closing time of 5pm, please advise arrival details at time of booking.
All late check-outs are due to availability and must be requested the morning of check-out, prior to 10am. Late check-out up to 11am is at the discretion of the resort manager. Late check-out after 11am will result in the following additional charges being applied to your account:
- 11am – 2pm $20.00 per hour
- After 2pm the full daily rate applies
Credit Card Authorisation
A credit card authorization will be asked for at time of checkin and will be used to cover incidental items such as ( but not limited ):
Telephone or Internet Charges
Any breakages or damage incurred during your stay
Any excessive cleaning charges, above the normal level of cleaning, due to the apartment being left in an unacceptable state
We will pre-authorize all credit cards upon arrival. Please note this process validates the presented card and protects both the card holder and merchant from fraud. We may pre-authorize a card for any charges we determine that the guest may be likely to have during their stay. The pre-authorized amount is set aside by the credit card company for a period of up to 10 days. This pre-authorization will affect your available funds.
For more information on this we suggest the cardholder contact their card issuer.
Once a pre-authorization has been made, we can not release, remove or lower the authorized amount. This is a restriction placed on us by the bank and cannot be negotiated.
Security Deposits and Photo I.D. required on check-in
All guests are required to provide a credit card pre-authorisation on arrival to cover any miscellaneous charges. Where a credit card is not available a $500.00 cash deposit will be required. A current drivers license or passport will be required at checkin. This ID may be copied or stored as a record that we have verified who you are as a combat to increasing credit card crime.
Any personal information contained on the collected ID will be securely stored and carefully disposed of at the end of its usefulness.
- For all bookings during 19/11/11 – 11/12/11 and special events as advised by the resort a security bond of $500 is required.
The person affecting a booking shall be deemed to have accepted the booking conditions on behalf of all persons named in the booking.
All clients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or an individual over the age of 18, the property has the right to refuse any booking, when the legal guardian cannot provide current photo I.D. when requested at check-in.
We reserve the right to reject bookings from School Leavers and/or University Leavers from
mid/late November - Early December as we do not have policies, procedures or resources to meet the unique needs of those attending the annual "Schoolies" event. If on check in persons travelling are found to be participating in "Schoolies" they will NOT be checked in and no refunds will be given.
Although every effort will be made to satisfy any specific requests, we cannot guarantee them. Should you consider the apartment you have booked not suitable, upgrades or relocations can be requested - subject to availability and at an additional cost. Guests wishing to change rooms after check-in will incur a cleaning fee.
0-2 yrs FOC (free of charge) using existing bedding (rollaway / sofa is not existing bedding) Cot hire available at an additional charge. Must pre advise resort prior to arrival.
3-14yrs Adult rate applies.
